Trip to The Cabin Day # 2

Day #2 was just as beautiful, we spend the entire day down at the water, what a great way to spend the day!

These pictures are out of order, these were taking in the evening when a huge storm rolled in, it went around us but it was pretty intense.

Our super cute baby frogs we caught and then let go, the kids loved them.

Trip to The Cabin Day # 1

We had two weeks holidays in July and we took an extended weekend and too the kids up to my sisters cabin on Atton's Lake up near Cutknife, SK.

We stopped in Innisfail on our way up and grabbed some timmies, the kids eyes were the size of saucers when they saw the sprinkle doughnuts so I figured we're on a road trip, why not. Well they ended up only eating the sprinkles and left the doughnuts, go figure!

I had to take a picture of my blueberry fritter, it was the most messy, amazing blueberry fritter I've ever had from timmies, SO GOOD!!!

We stopped in Viking so we could take a pic of the "Home of the Sutters" Cy was so excited to share it with the kids, it'll be more special when Carter is old enough to understand, especially since he's ALL about the Hockey!

We have the record for taking the longest time to get up to the cabin, we stopped so many times because of bathroom breaks for Olivia and just giving the kids time to walk around it felt like it took us two days! But as soon as we got there, we literally stripped them out of their clothes, put them in their suits and got them down to the water. We spent the rest of the day in the water, it was so fun and a great way to end a long day.

This is Olivia taking her very first boat ride with my sisters neighbours and my nieces.

Carter loved the "island", it had a mesh bottom in the middle that let the water in, and he tried to fish out of there.

Danni taking Olivia out to the island.

taking a turn on the turtle.

Daddy and Carter on the island.

We ended day one with a marshmallow roast, Carters first (at least his first that he was old enough to eat one)

Renee found the worlds largest marshmallows at Wal-Mart, they're HUGE, and she only had three left, she roasted two at once and we lost one to the fire but she sacraficed her hand to save the second one, but was left with a heck of a mess, she didn't do very well getting it off her self so she let the dog do it instead, worked much better!

Pool Time!

Carter got a huge pool for his birthday from the Doucette's and at the first sign of beautiful weather we got it ready for a day of swimming. It's so huge we had to go buy an electric pump to blow it up cause it would have taken us days by ourselves.

The kids had a great time playing around in it before the water went in.

We started the day with breakfast outside it was so beautiful!

time to fill the pool, carter had the cold water, daddy had the hot.

the pool's so big there's room for the kids chairs, toys, a couple blow up things AND Mom and Dad!

The kids were also given squirt frogs with the pool, mom and dad had fun with them too!

Carters aim is a bit off LOL

It was so hot out we threw the dogs in the pool and had the kids dump water on them.

Kicking the water takes a lot of work! hahaha

Drying off in the sun

Ending the day with supper outside, and if you look behind them, you can see that we had to turn the backyard into a lake just to empty the pool, we could never fill the entire pool, we'd flood the basement just to empty it!

Carters Actual Birthday Day

On Carter's actual birthday we just stuck close to home and made it a family day. I decorated the kitchen with some streamers and banners and had his present sitting on the table when he came down in the morning, and what does he do. Walks straight to the table, climbs up and grabs and apple and says look mommy, apple! And then continues on to eat it! LOL

He finally got around to opening his gift, an A to Z book about Dinosoaurs (that we read almost every day) and a TAG Jr.

He's always trying to play with olivia's TAG and her's has paper books so this one is built for the little ones with board books, it's perfect and he loves it!

Carters 2nd Birthday - The Party

We had a birthday party for Carter a week before his actual birthday so we could celebrate with everyone at fish creek, unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate so we ended up having it at the house, the weather warmed up for part of the fun so the kids could go outside for a bit, we had a great day.

The kids testing out the craft table before the guests arrived.

They helped each other "decorate" themselves.

Sitting in front of a huge plate of cookies my son ate carrot after carrot dipped in ranch dressing...go figure!

We tired out baby Dawson pretty quickly!
