Flames Fan in Training!

We picked up carter a new hat for this summer since he's outgrown all his other ones. He saw the hockey hats when we walked by the flames store in Chinook and we got lucky and they had one that fit. Unfortunately we weren't with Daddy and Liv when they went to the bell store the same day but Alex Tanguay happened to be there signing mini hockey sticks, so daddy got one for Liv and Carter, he's super excited about his "special stick".

Family Day - 2011

On family day we took the kids to Olympic Oval, they had a free family skate (we ended up forgetting the kids skates! OOPS!) but they had face painting and bounce houses and silly pictures and speed skating demonstrations so we still had fun.

Olivia said this sculpture looked like tooth brushes, and asked me to take a picture of her in front of the tooth brushes LOL.

The nice picture in front of the torch from 88.

And this is the picture just before that LOL, Carter was trying to get Olivia out of the picture hahaha.

All it took was a Hockey Stick!

Our second time out skating with the kids we were with the Medernach's, Head's and Kraus' and they had hockey sticks for their kids. Carter is all about hockey right now and saw that the kids were using them and he asked to hold one so I handed it to him. All of a sudden he was standing on his skates on his own, he hadn't stood on his own at all but hand the kid a stick and he's a pro! He even shuffled after the puck a little bit, I was shocked and even a bit proud! Must be a boy thing!!! LOL

The Chair

We love our huge handmedown chaise, it's the family cuddle chair, but unfortunately it's also a trap for "stuff". The fabric inside the chair has let go and anything that falls into it sinks right to the bottom but doesn't actually come out because the fabric on the bottom of the chair is still intact. But because it's up against the island the kids stand on it and watch me cook and do stuff in the kitchen, while they're up there they play with toys and stuff on the island and inevitably everything ends up in the chair. So when Cy's sunglasses went missing we feared the worst, we gave up on reaching thru the chair to get things so we tilted the chair on it's side and slit the fabric on the bottom of the chair, we didn't realize how much stuff had actually accumulated in the chair!!

Our booty of stuff from the chair (Cy's sunglasses weren't in there) LOL.

Happy New Year!!!

We celebrated New Years with a quiet nite at home, the kids hadn't been feeling very well so we just kept it quiet and early, but not without some traditions!

Celebrating!

The traditional "Happy New Year" yell out the door at "midnight", cy and I re-did it when the clock actually hit midnight. I've been yelling out the door at midnight since I was old enough to stay up late, it may annoy the neighbours but it makes me smile!
