First Bike Rides of 2011

The weather today was so beautiful, we still have snow but it was warm enough that we were all wearing shorts and sandals. We dug the kids bikes out and got them riding for the first time this season, Carter can pedal a tiny bit but the steering is a bit off, Liv almost has everything coordinated, except she gets so excited that she pedals as hard as she can and gets going "crazy" as she says and forgets to steer, she fell over about 4 times by taking sharp corners and going off the sidewalk but jumped right back on everytime!

Hoppy Easter 2011

This Easter was the first where the kids were both old enough for us to do an egg hunt. We had so much fun sending them all over the house and outside to search for eggs, I couldn't believe how quickly Carter caught onto the hints that we had and how much faster he was at finding the eggs before Olivia, he was on a serious mission!

Advantage of being in charge of carving...taste testing!

Carter got his easter basket stuck on his head so mommy grabbed the camera first before helping him with it, it was pretty funny!

Olivia's Spring Concert

Olivia had her spring concert for pre-school, she did a great job, she's been practicing the songs at home and one of them was "I am slowly going crazy" which I knew from school so it was really cute!

The real Olivia LOL.

Aggie Days

We got together for some long overdue fun with our friends and took the kids to Aggie Days. We didn't actually get any pictures at the grounds but I think all the kids had more fun on the train ride!

Olivia was too cool to sit, she was big enough to stand like mommy!

Please send some SUN!

We've been going crazy with the horrible weather, here are some of the things we've got up to while stuck in the house.

The kids took a boat trip with their library books and a horse head LOL

I'm not sure if Carter tossed his sister and her stuff overboard.

The weather got a warm enough for us to open the windows and let the fresh air in, the ground was still covered in snow though, even the dogs are sick of it!!

No pictures, just talk.

So, I've decided to take a page out of my friend Carrie's Blog (the Kraus House) and just put some words on the page. Honestly it's more because we haven't taken a lot of pictures lately, just lazy with the camera I guess. But we have been up to some things, last nite the kids started swimming lessons, Olivia is in her first un-parented class, she did everything her instructor asked and waited albeit somewhat impatiently to jump off the wall at the end of the class, we did actually get a video of her jumping off the wall and it was funny, cause the instructor didn't know what he was in for, most of the kids were kind of timid, ya, not Liv, she almost made him fall backwards she jumped so quickly, that's my girl, no fear and part fish! Carter really enjoyed his parented class too, last year he wasn't into swimming at all, he'd cry almost the entire time we were in the pool. But we've been practicing during bath time putting our ears in the water and blowing bubbles and last nite he showed his instructor he could do a front float, back float and go right under the water all by himself, it was awesome! Can't wait for the cabin this summer!
